Description
Since medical school, Dr Tariq had a strong interest in the gastrointestinal system and much of her research was on liver related pathologies. She credits her parents and husband for being her support system and a positive influence on defining her career path. Her husband is also a physician and a researcher which played a key role in her pursuit to becoming a gastroenterologist. Being able to connect with her patients and accurately diagnose a patient’s ailments drives her to come to work each day. She loves the procedural aspect of the gastroenterology field and is particularly interested in inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, endoscopic bariatric procedures and colorectal cancer screening.
